A LITTLE EACH DAY

August 2014
Another for the books... lately I am pissed by some text scammers who scheme to steal load from people in the guise of a promotional campaign. I have been a GLOBE Handyphone postpaid subscriber for many years now. In the past, I was given a free phone every other year for being a loyal customer.

Around 3 weeks ago, I received an SMS from a unknown sender, title in all caps GLOBE ADVISORY.... something to the effect in really bad English-- You have been chosen as the winner of 35% discount on your monthly bill. ("the winner" -- is it me only?). To claim, text 500 to number 2XXXXXXXXXX.

After I reported to Globe’s hotline, I deleted the SMS with some sort of an assurance from the first customer service representative (CSR) I spoke with,  that he will do something about my complaint. Indeed, after a few days, I got an SMS from Globe coming from a 4-digit number, saying "DON'T BE A VICTIM OF TEXT SCAMS.... "  Fine, thank you.

To report again to Globe upon receiving the second SMS,  I spoke with a certain Gena Fontanosa,  a CSR at Globe's hotline who can't do anything to bar the text messages. She said I had to call TOUCH MOBILE, which is a sister company of GLOBE and report it. UNBELIEVABLE and she refused to get me her supervisor.

Be wary of these numbers: 639222398973 (not sure what network) and 29368986578 of TOUCH MOBILE.

It was opening of business hours when I called Globe’s hotline.  It wasn’t a great way to start my day, furious and frothing in the mouth.

July 2014
I usually bring a small pack of crackers or wafers to work for either morning or afternoon snack that goes well with coffee, which is free and "unli" any time of the day, any day of the week. Sometimes I venture to buy a couple of COUNTRY STYLE munchkins in lieu of crackers. After a few times buying munchkins (over a day old) that were "dry" and hard to swallow, I would add "yung hindi luma" when ordering munchkins at the counter. Then the attendant would pick those at the back of the tray --- it pays to be a choosy customer, right? I find I tell myself YOLO (you only live once)  more and more. Some people would rather say, LISE (life is short, enjoy) the munchkins, it’s cheap and can be devoured whole when in a rush.

June 2014
KRAFT doesn't make cheddar as sharp and tasty anymore. I bought a small size CHEDDAR (so it says on the box)  cheese, hoping it's sharp and can easily be grated. Heck no, I had to put it in the freezer before  grating, and the taste was definitely NOT sharp.  I like to use freshly grated sharp cheddar or eden for my cheese pimiento.  I usually prepare cheese pimiento spread with butter and stewed (canned) red bell pepper. KRAFT’s CHEDDAR labeling is a poor attempt to deceive consumers, read closely and you’d see "processed cheese spread."
